Worshiping Trees as a tradition is seen in folklore,
culture and fiction across the globe. While paying obeisance to trees is good
for us as we get to connect with the pious energies of these trees. But more
often, this gesture is turning into a wish fulfillment ceremony. Like our gods,
trees too have fallen prey to our desires. There is no end to the growth of our
desires. If one is fulfilled, next one springs up. Earth has everything to
satisfy man’s needs as well as wants. Had it not been the case, man would have
long been extinct as man’s needs have exponentially risen since the time of
evolution and they still are growing at an alarming rate. But man is still
thriving albeit weaker than his ancestors. For this greedy man, who never gets
satiated in life, there is one hope that allows him to escalate his wants as
much as he desires. This is the only hope that is powerful enough to provide
everything a man ever wants. Hence this hope is called Kalpvriksha. Only trees
are capable to provide man with life, resources and everything that he always
desires. Next time, when we make a wish to a tree, let the first one be of
planting a tree.
